Additionally, the Vitamix Professional 500 has 3 Program Cycles for Smoothie, Soup and Desserts but it has kept the best part of the 5200 which is the Variable Speed Dial. You are going to pay at least an additional $150 for the extra features so you need to decide if they are a must have.

The Ninja Professional Blender is a great mid-range blender option capable of performing most common kitchen tasks. This 1100 watt blender is not the powerful workhorse of a Vitamix or Blendtec but it has a lot to offer for the price. Made in China, the Ninja 1100 comes with a 1-Year warranty and has a payment plan option.

The Ninja Complete Kitchen package comes with 2 containers and additional attachments for mixing batters and kneading dough. Controls are simple with 3 speed buttons and a pulse.

If you are not needing a powerful performance blender, the Ninja offers a lot of versatility for an entry level blender. It is worth considering...

The Omni V blender made in China by JTC is marketed as a high performance "Best Bang for the Buck" blender. Claiming to be a 3 horsepower blender able to make soup, ice cream, nut butters and "what ever else your heart desires".

Controls include 3 speeds and 3 set blending time buttons. With max power reported by Omni as 950 watts running at 1.5 horsepower/9 amps, and "slower speed than competitors".

We have not had the opportunity to experience the Omni blender but have heard good things. We would love to hear what you think of the Omni Blender.

HealthMaster, the Living Well Montel Williams blender, has recently come to market in an attempt to fill the gap between a High Performance Blender, such as the VitaMix and Blendtec and common kitchen blenders.

For about half the price you get about half the power and supposedly all the function of a High Performance Blender. HealthMaster claims to be able to make juice, ice cream, hot soup and more. Reviews are mixed. Some people love it, while many looking for the quality and performance of a VitaMix are left severely disappointed. If you are looking for quality performance we recommend investing a little more for a Vitamix or Blendtec.
