Excitement builds as the low hum of the Excalibur dehydrator runs…

We have no doubt given that dehydrator a workout for the last 20 days or so it has not seen a break in the demand.  With the advent of the backpacking trip upon me the food preparation has been non stop. On top of that, prototype products for our upcoming packaged offerings have filled the trays as well.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here are some of the tasty morsels that continue to be turned out for the backpacking trip:
backpacking-raw-food
- kale chips
- Rosemary sourdough bread
- jalapeno veggie crackers
- watermelon-pineapple candy
- iced cookies
- blueberry bars
- dried fruit (pineapple mango banana)
- spicy Nama Shoyu garlic almonds
- cashew curry crackers
All this as well as some fresh fruit and veggies. All raw and all delicious!
So the big question… must I share?
How about sharing some recipes! YUM!!!
I just got my dehydrator. It hasn’t stopped running yet. The problem I have is timing. I have had a few times the dehydrator needed to be checked and I over dehydrated a pizza crust. Also, under dehydrated some sprouted hazelnuts thinking they were done, put them in a sealed mason jar and when I went to use them the jar opened with pressure and the nuts had a fermented taste. Not sure if I can use them… couldn’t find anyone who knew. lol
I use a food dehydrator all the time for preparing backpacking food. You can dehydrate so many great things that it is a great fit for outdoor activities. Thanks for sharing your ideas.
  • John: The Brushed Stainless finish is now available for the Vitamix 5200 - see it
  • Paul Horne: There is no comparison for me - the Blendtec is the clear winner. It's more powerful, much better looking, digital, compact and fits on my counter
  • Tom: If you are going to invest this kind of money in a blender, spend the little bit extra and get the Vitamix. Sure, you can save a few dollars if buying
