The Blue Green Smoothie

Posted by: John In: Green Smoothie Recipes|Green Smoothies|Raising Jonny

After my short hiatus of green smoothies – I was clearly missing them. This morning started promplty with a beautiful Blueberry-peach green smoothie that I shared with my son, Jonathan. And guess what – so far no cravings for “bad food”. Thus far I am going to conclude that the serious attack of bad food cravings from yesterday was a result of missing nutrition – mainly my missing green smoothie for 2 days.

The Blue Green Smoothie

- 2 bananas
- 3/4 cup frozen blueberries
- 1 fresh peach (pit removed)
- 3 leaves kale
- 3 leaves purple kale
- 1 Tbs chia seed
- 1 Tbs spirulina
- water to blend

I rarely use so much fruit to greens but I’ve been really enjoying fruit recently and I was looking forward to sharing this one with my son. I highly recommend it, even if you are relatively new to green smoothies as it was sweet and yummy!

Enjoy!

Wow that really is blue – the glass must be blue too? There’s not too many blue foods but I like peaches in my smoothie, I’ll have to try this one.

I just tried this and it was fantastic. As a mom it is great to know nutritious recipes that my 7 and 3 year olds love!
