I just purchased some stinging nettles from a local herb festival, to grow in my garden. I was told that before eating them they needed to be steamed or dried, not to use them whole due to the chemicals that produce the sting. So can you add them to a smoothie safely, without first steaming or dehydrating them?
I am very eager to use all the greens I am growing in my garden and this seems like the perfect way to get the best out of them!
