I have a lot of tomatoes to can and want to make a tomato sauce in my vita-mix. Can someone tell me if I have to blanch and peel the tomatoes first or can I just put the entire tomato into the vita-mix? Thanks!

You can just put the entire thing in the vitamix. I make raw tomato sauce all the time that way.

Yep, no need to blanch peel and such just put the entire tomato in your Vitamix. If you want your sauce thicker, cut the tomato in half and scoop out the seed pulp before tossing them in.
Let us know how it works out for you.

Thank you both. I am making it tonight and will let you know how it works. I have a plethora of tomatos from my garden and I plan on canning them in a 10 minute hot water bath afterwards.

The best tomato sauce I ever made! No more boiling and no more putting it through a sieve. I love it!
