Just a note that whole sesame seeds have significantly more calcium than hulled seseme seeds.

You should definitely pay attention to combos. Just follow the cardinal rule of:
- don't combine fats or complex carbohydrates with your fruit (greens are neither) That's because fruit digests a lot quicker than most foods and when mixed in your belly, the fruit ferments while waiting for the rest of the food to go through the process. Juicing is a little different because it is an extraction which removes fiber and pulp so it all is quickly digested and absorbed (of course you still need to avoid juicing fats). Portion sizes are a bit more complicated as you need to consider everything you are eating to know correct portions for you. Some regimes recommend 80% of all food be fruit while others keep fruit to near zero (especially if diabetic). |

Hey, I am new to this and want some more specifics on proper combining with blending. I read somewhere perhaps here when juicing or blending not one needs not concern oneself how combos digest. I am interested in planning my meals around my activities and do require full digestion for runs & swims. Also it would be great to have portion sizes not this 5 lbs of fruit per day...I was hoping for more like cups... thanks

I've been making smoothies with my Blendtec for years and just recently started making them green. I love the energy I get and am shopping for a new blender. The recipes here are great thank you for all the info!

I had a Blendtec for 4 years and loved it. Last year I got a new roommate who brought her vitamix 5000. Now like I said, I loved my Blendtec but I think I love the vitamix more. It is not nearly as loud and I love how easy it is to control what you are blending. No more pushing buttons over and over to finish up my smoothies. Now that my Blendtec container is leaking and my roommate is moving I am shopping for a new blender and I'm pretty sure I am going to get the vitamix this time. Thank you for all the great information!

Well done mizqtype - I think you've made an excellent decision! Did you use your Blendtec before returning it? If so what did you think?
