Hi, I just made my first green smoothie and love it. I've never eaten all my fruits and vegetables in one sitting so I hope I don't have problems. I do have a question though, how do you know how much water to add if you don't have a recipe? I don't want a lot of froth so I need to know the minimum amount.:D

Well Dottie - basically you put enough water in to blend. It really depends upon your preference as to how you like your smoothie - thick or thin. Some recipes have an amount of water but it all depends upon what you put in.

Keep on experimenting to find out what you need and like. Put enough water in to make it blend then go from there. Remember you can always add more water :)

So how was your first smoothie experience?

Hello Dottie,

Congratulations on your first green smoothie! Like the junkie said, how much water is a preference. If you make a quart's worth you are likely to use about 1 1/2 cup to 2 cups water. The minimum amount depends upon your blender, that will require only a little trial to find out.
